How many ‘mushroom’ based shoes do we need? Personally I think we need more ‘avocado’ colorways… #ebaywatch

Was thinking on this one for a bit…‘gimmick’ is not necessarily a bad thing as most start out as gimmicks but the solving of an actual problem is what always takes a few years to be seen… Don’t get me wrong on these - I still love ‘em. Mostly for nostalgia or aesthetics. Any clear mistakes or things I missed? What would you add to the list?

Ok so I had some wild success with my ‘decoding size tags’ post a few months back and a bunch of ppl asked me about Nike and Jordan sample tags. I kept referring them to @donniebsoles because his knowledge is just incomparable. He reached out to me and told me his photos and info is free for me to use if I wanted to create a post…and what I found after weeks of sorting through the data…it’s a lot. Instead of a single post, I put the info behind Nike size tags on my website in the ‘collectible

It’s time for my yearly ‘white or gold’ or ‘black and blue’ post…engage engage engage! This one is seriously like an optional illusion because when I focus on one are of the screen it looks like it’s one color and when I focus on a different area it looks the other. When I look at the dark background pic it looks likely black and blue, when I look with the bg removed it looks white and gold. 🤯

Saw this washed up on a beach close to Coney Island like 15 years ago…it was the middle of February. Always loved this picture. @john_c_jay NYC block logo in the house (on the beach!)

I started writing a post about the Knicks and ended up writing like 1000000 words…so many thoughts and feelings and observations…I think I’ll save it for the newsletter. That being said…super stoked for the Knicks and especially long-suffering Knick fans. I love to see an underdog win. A championship for New York is good for the sport. 🏆 Lastly - Spurs fans - don’t worry, Wemby is gonna have his day, it’s just not today.

I wrote like a lot of words on the color called ‘infrared’ and how that slight shade made me feel more like a goon than ‘varsity red’. Something to do with Jordan being a terminator with a sniper line vs. something you’d find in the halls of a high school. Which other *similar* colorways give you a different feeling entirely?

Never it, but definitely somewhere.

$76 for some Jordan XX9 samples…they’re not that great but folks been sleeeeeping on those models for more than 10 years now goodness. #ebaywatch still keeping me entertained.

If someone at Nike asked me to pick the next Air Max model that’s up for a retro, I’d say that I would have chosen at least 74 other Air Max models before the Air Max 2.5 TL. And that’s not because I dislike it or anything - it’s more because I just don’t feel like it was ever much of a hit. Nothing all that unique about it, IMO, and there are far more in the catalog that deserve some extra love (when the hell are we going to see the rest of the Air Max Plus line or the Air Max Walker or the Air

A story in 3 parts…and a prediction: I, for one, couldn’t imagine complaining to eBay about a manufacturing defect - a missed stitch on a Nike shoe. I, for two, cannot comprehend that eBay would respond with a full refund for a missed stitch on a shoe they didn’t create. I, for three, am wondering when eBay is going to kill the funds for their AG apologist tour, because I, for four, am sure it is coming.
