One of those things that’s like embedded in my head is just the collectibility of like anything. Anything whatsoever. Once I discovered GI Joes and cards and comics and CDs, sneakers was clearly the next world to conquer in terms of collecting…
I’ve talked a lot about collecting and the motivations in the past, but that’s really not what todays post is about. It’s really more of a question regarding the concept of whether or not others see sneakers as a collectible in a similar way as I do.
Upon seeing that Ja ‘we ain’t ducking no smoke’ teaser, I wondered how in the world Nike really thought they were gonna get away with it 😂 once I saw it got ‘corrected’, tho, it made me think of collectible error cards.
We can assume *some* of these ‘smoke’ pairs are going to get out ahead of the ‘autograph’ release, right? And if we can assume that, can we also assume that there will likely be a heavy price premium on said pairs?
Most ‘error’ (or ‘recalled’) sneakers really haven’t found the same collectibility scale that I think cards have - but is there ever a possibility they will?
