What would Nike do without that (semi) extensive back catalog of sneakers designed by folks who are long gone? Is there such a thing as sneaker royalties?
I think…as you get older…at least in my head…you start to wonder what if anything you’ve created will last beyond your own lifespan.
I think if that dude Bruce Kilgore often - like - he made some of Nikes most popular silhouettes. He designed some of Nikes most popular shoes of today…only…he designed them 40 years ago. Did Nike give him royalties? Did they take care of his family? Do they continue to make millions if not billions of dollars off of his designs while forgetting, at the end of the day, that a human being designed them?
This feels like a series of disjointed thoughts more than anything…but…I guess…should it be the way it is?
