A bunch of people asked me about this .swoosh shoe and there’s a couple of things to mention…
Dot swoosh is more of an experiment than rtfkt imo. Dot swoosh is Nikes attempt at building and maintaining their own blockchain with various ‘prizes’ thrown in. That means that Nike can do whatever they want with the data - they own it. They can manipulate it or change it to match whatever their goals are or aren’t. RTFKT data, on the other hand, lives on the ETH blockchain - a public ledger - so Nike has no control over what happens there. I am curious as to how the dot swoosh stuff will roll out, but I passed on this shoe…
Truth be told I’m just not interested in it. A black and white Air Force 1 with a few purple hits? Meh. I’m really just kinda over the whole retros-as-a-selling-point thing at this point..
