Is Nike releasing these ‘grails’ from the mid-2000’s a good thing or a bad thing? Remember the South Beach 8’s? The Corks? The Kobe grinches?

Lebron 2 Beast PE and KD 4 Nerf are on the way.

The collector in me is screaming ‘but what about their legacy?’, while the sneakerhead in me is like ‘good, enough of these $5000 plastic shoes’.

I often toe the line between ‘collecting’ and simply wearing just to wear…I think there is certainly space for the collectibility, but it’s kind of hard to establish generally accepted collecting guidelines when the vast majority of people *into* sneakers look at them as ‘wearable collectibles’, which…I dunno…doesn’t say much for preservation or legacy.

I struggle with it, a lot, just the idea of ‘what’s worth putting in a grail box’ and ‘what’s worth undeadstocking’ because you just never know how it’s gonna turn out.

The Lebrons were always a bit much for my tastes, the KD’s much easier…but…I dunno…I won’t be copping either regardless. Just think it’s an interesting question.
