In no way is this post meant to be disrespectful towards anyone… @bigboi is in my top 5 all time and I know what @staley05 means to the basketball world, but I do think this topic merits discussion.

Around the time the very first Sneakercon’s popped up, maybe 2009 or so…I read a CNN article where @bigboi was the featured guest at Sneakerpimps Atlanta.
Big showed up to the convention wearing some fake Jordan 8’s, and the organizers decided to pull him aside to give him something else to wear for the remainder of the convention…some pair of authentic GRs or something.
Big thought his pair was a real exclusive and he thought his plug was legit but he was obviously mistaken…and the convention organizers couldn’t be seen allowing fakes so they had to step in and get through the awkward situation as best they could.
This story has pretty much gone away but if you google enough you might be able to find it.

Anyway, that’s what I think of every time I see @staley05 post a pair of ‘exclusives’.
For the uninformed, the vast majority of these exclusives are fake. Straight up. There’s no way around it. And I’m not the fake police but these are just obvious.
Now, if you’re a rep from Nike, and you’re most certainly following these prominent accounts, and you see these fakes being posted time and time again from very prominent people - why aren’t you reaching out to correct the situation? To me, it seems there would be a lot to gain with very little to lose.
Nike sponsors a lot of people, why wouldn’t they step in here and add some good will? It’s none of my business with what someone decides to put on their feet, but I think for all the passion some of us put into this, public perception should be paramount and would show that Nike is paying attention…
Anyway, what do you think? Am I wrong? Is it none of my business?
