The sneaker world is all aflutter with any sort of drama, even if it is manufactured…

Short version of how I understand it:
- Nike debuts a relatively interesting looking (for the NBA) signature shoe for @dbook
- Devin Booker has been debuting colorway after colorway night after night in his games, even thought not a single pair has actually been released to the public
- Plenty of social media outlets are saying the shoes are bad and the hate appears to be piling on for a SHOE THAT STILL HASN’T ACTUALLY RELEASED YET
- Book confirms the hate and @shaq jumps in the fray

I’m sitting over here looking at this whole situation like…’is this what everyone should be doing at this point in the sneaker release cycle?’

IMO…in my perfect world - Nike would release some pairs to the public, Book would just go on about his business playing basketball, and the rest of us would focus on something else. People who liked the shoe would cop it and those who didn’t wouldn’t.

Isn’t it a bit premature for everyone to be throwing their opinions out there when THE SHOE HASN’T EVEN RELEASED YET?

I’ve seen a million shoes that I hated before I saw them in person, and I’m sure I’m not alone - what makes this pair any different? Why is this product launch so much different than the JA1 launch, which, IMO was a much quieter release for a much less-interesting looking shoe? Cant we wait to withhold judgment on whether or not something is a failure until AFTER it ACTUALLY releases?
