No shade available for me to throw towards anyone here, because I have gotten many things wrong myself. Also, I do know that this is another topic that contains multiple layers. I saw these two tweets one after the other a couple of days ago and thought the responses were very echo chamber-y.
When it comes to politics, it seems there are several versions of the ‘truth’ within even a seemingly simple situation, so here we see two different stories that co-exist.
First, @prvt.selection posted an early pair (or is it a sample?)
Second, @zsneakerheadz posting that this shoe isn’t set to release (possibly scrapped)?
IF the shoe @prvt.selection showed is a sample, both stories can be true at the same time. But also - I’ve gotten MY hands on ‘retail’ pairs that never ‘officially’ released. Does that make them fake? Depends on who you ask.
To be fair to @prvt.selection - I’ve been seeing pictures of these floating around for over 6 months. Fakes? Who knows. Nike or JB employees CAN tell me these ARE set to release but are they actually the final say?
And to be fair to @zsneakerheadz - who is quite reputable - is it possible that retail pairs HAVE been created, but for whatever reason they decided to cancel the release?
Is there any definitive answer or judgement call to any of these situations?
Being that nike isn’t necessarily beholden to us - the sneakerheads - I’ve seen time and time again that there are multiple versions of the truth…
For my money, tho, I stay away from anything falling in the ‘early’ and ‘hyped’ categories for several reasons, not just a one…
Where do we stand?
EDIT: I personally SAW pics of the sample tag on @prvt.selection pair…
