Been seriously ruminating lately on the scope of retail and the number of items these corporations have been producing…in what world have we (they) created where they’re sending items right off the bat to 50% off racks? Yall made too damn much of EVERYTHING.

It’s a trip when I go into an actual corporate store (ie: North Face, Gap, Adidas, Nike, Patagonia) and outlet or not - the prices are CHEAPER than my favorite types of secondhand stores (ie: crossroads, buffalo exchange, freestyle) and sometimes even cheaper than thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army…

Everyone is still in price discovery mode trying to figure out what things should be worth:

If your a corp - old inventory is bad
If you’re a reseller - good inventory is good
If you’re a thrift - interesting inventory is worth a premium

But isnt it funny that just about everything people have been clamoring for the past 10 years has now come to a head (on Kanye’s own website) at $20?

I mean, with the amount of products they’ve been creating and the amount of disposable income we have…maybe $20 is that magic number..cuz with the numbers we’ve seen - are these Yeezys moving at even 50% of retail?
