They say you shouldn’t take things personally and I definitely try not to, but the fact that I’m posting this tells you that I probably did take it a bit personally…

My thoughts on the lawsuit: in some sense I suppose Nike is right - this dude has basically built a mini-empire off of their brand and their image…$60m sounds pretty absurd, tho, doesn’t it?

I’ve got no problem with small time cobblers making a few bucks here or there using Nike as the base for their creations, but any time they’re churning them out charging $1.5k+ per I can see where the issue resides.

I tend not to look so much as ‘what has been done’, I prefer to look at ‘what can be done in the future’ as I think the past is the past - why can’t Nike allow smaller creators to license their brand image via royalties? Yeah I know I know plenty of d**kbutts making terrible copies, but what about those that aren’t?

Hell, I’d pay a licensing fee to rock with the brand image on several ideas…matter of fact - why don’t yall get at me?
