So…I’ve been FAR out of pocket the past couple of weeks. I’ve been vacationing with the family on a remote island in the south pacific and it’s pretty much our first real vacation since 2016. So I haven’t really been keeping up with stuff all that closely…it’s gonna be another short one but I’ll do my best.
Releases this coming week (or…I think I’d prefer to call them ‘Releases from last week):
Nike x Stussy AF1
Yeah, yeah, I know these dropped the other day. I’ve *kinda* kept my eye on them from a distance…and then I happened to walk into a Stussy store (I haven’t been inside a stussy store in probably 15 years) and they told me they’d be dropping in a day or two through a raffle. So I signed up and won the black pair. I decided the pair I really wanted was the hemp pair so I was gonna skip it, til they emailed wifey telling her she won the hemp pair. So I grabbed them. I think they’re kind of a boring release, but I do like the details, especially the double S’s on the toebox and the heel charm (or whatever you call it). The materials look good, too.
Converse x A Cold Wall
Yeah, yeah, I know these dropped the day before ‘the other day’, and I copped ‘em. I copped the Yeezy lookin’ colorway last month, too. Super comfortable, just a great ‘every day’ kinda shoe for me. I dunno, I just really like this design. And I prefer this colorway to the other since I spend so much time outdoors and getting my shoes dirty. A Cold Wall stuff is really impressing me lately…
Nike Huarache ‘Rattan’
They’ve got a million different names for this colorway and you could call it ‘peaches and raw leather’ and I’d still be into it. I love this colorway - it’s so perfectly ACG and I think it just looks perfect on this shoe. I’m a huge fan of Huaraches and any of them mixed with ACG colors is a thumbs up IMO…
I really didn’t buy or sell much this week…just a few things at the second hand store here on the island…but for internet life, these are the few things that stood out…
Selling: For whatever reason, a few of my IG posts went semi-viral and I sold a few more boxes of Dunky Dunks and Air Maxes. I’m almost sold out…! I’m getting excited for forthcoming sets…but I’m starting to think we need to have a few sets on deck before releasing.
Watching: Truth be told I never heard of this Terra/Luna thing until this past week, but Jesus Christ this is the kinda thing that really gets the ‘fear machine’ going when it comes to crypto. If you haven’t heard of it…it’s pretty complicated and I understand what happened (but absolutely cannot explain it anywhere near as well as CNET did here).
ALSO: It looks like the claim window for the Flying Formations Air Max 1’s has opened…I’ve got a couple coming my way!
So…yeah…I’ve been on vacation for a few days so haven’t gotten all that much done, but I’ve gotten a few things together to keep me excited for the near future…
I’ve got a BUNCH of cards coming here shortly…the way I’m going to be selling cards from this set is quite a bit different than the past sets. The past sets were all about packs, this set is all about the ‘base set’ as a reference, and ‘insert’ or ‘special’ cards are going to be more readily available to those who want them. So…basically…print on demand pre-orders.
I’ve talked with a few people and have, actually, at least 2 more sets in the works. They take forever, but I think, all things being equal, I’m just gonna keep chugging along…
The Nineties
I’m pretty deep into this Klosterman book and I dunno…I just really like the way this dude writes. This book is about the nineties and all of the strange and interesting things that happened during my time ‘growing up’, and I gotta say, it’s refreshing when you start finding people with shared experiences..(I didn’t watch the video above BTW).
Kendrick Lamar
I watched the video while on the beach and…it was all it was cracked up to be. Yeah, yeah, I know. I still haven’t listened to the whole album. I will when I get back home. I swear.
