When I read other people’s takes on topics like these I always feel so dumb. Like why didn’t I think of that?
@doitbigchicago with a very valid point. At this time - who actually feels connected to the brand in a wholesome way? Who actually feels a relationship to the brand that isn’t producer/consumer? How can you feel connected to a product that is coming off of an assembly line from a world away and being purchased through a computer and delivered through a series of mechanisms in which you have zero interaction with the seller?
The whole thing has become so impersonal and so…foreign…in a bad way.
Like imagine if Nike did a run of shoes similar to the new balance Made in the USA or Made in the UK series’ - how awesome would that be? How much pride would you feel in a pair of shoes like that?
Anyway…great points and I think interesting food for thought.
