Thanks to @sneakerlegal for summarizing everything for us…A couple of interesting things about this whole StockX vs. Nike thing:
1. Didn’t StockX swap out their CEO less than a week ago? Interesting timing, huh?
2. We all felt something was off, isn’t it great that our suspicions now have LEGAL basis?
3. Authenticating sneakers is difficult…but I find it fascinating that a billion dollar company was built off that promise that turned out to be a lie. I guess that saying ‘every great business is based off a lie’ kinda hits, huh…er…maybe that’s not the saying. But ‘success is often built on a well-told narrative’ sounds pretty appropriate.
4. It seems that even though StockX had billions of dollars of backing and millions of customers spending countless dollars on the site - Nike is the only TRUE arbiter of ‘real’ vs. ‘fake’…so when the hell is Nike going to do something about that responsibility?
5. I hope this leaves a bad taste in everyone’s mouth…once it’s all said and done, none of these corporations give a damn about anything but our money. None of them can provide what the REAL community can provide…imo…. All we got is each other!
