I know I know I’m about a month late…credit that to the fact I was out of the country for a couple of weeks…I saw images of Ohtani EVERYWHERE while in Japan but was kinda shocked I didn’t see this one anywhere..
For all the animosity between shoe brands, what do y’all think about the swoosh appearing prominently in a new balance ad? I mean, you know any time an ad like this goes out it has to go through several levels of approval - I’m wondering how (or why) the execs at NB allowed the swoosh through?
I don’t think it could have been a mistake…but…maybe…are we dealing with a more mature (and less petty) group of executives? We all know how petty MJ was about wearing Reeboks logo during the Olympics and we all know the bad blood between Nike and Adidas…is there no one at NB that was petty enough to just say ‘let’s just photoshop it out?’
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an ad like this between sneaker brands...
