I remember getting them at a mall on the east coast while my family was visiting my grandparents. It was one of the first vacations i can remember with the family and always made me want to go back to Greensboro. Maybe it was that feeling that i associated with the shoes that made them special to me.
My cousin had a pair of a different color air raids in his closet recently and i mentioned i had a pair when i was young and had not thought of them in over 20 years. He told me he had a pair in my color and current size and got them from the closet. All those warm fuzzy family vacation memories rushed back.
