Kinda funny to see the social media sneaker world react to this ‘crazy’ information in standard, predictable ways:
“*gasp*”
“Noooooooo”
“Why would JB do this to us?”
To put this in perspective, 10k pairs for these next to 400k pairs of the Lost & Found 1’s initially makes me wonder why Nike is even releasing these…but…then…I remembered…this is Nike…and they’ll do whatever they gotta do to ruffle feathers. And this certainly ruffles feathers. Because ruffling feathers breeds consumption.
Do I like this shoe? Meh.
Do I care about this release? No.
So why am I posting about it? Someone asked me to 😂
IMO this is the same thing Nike does time and time again to keep us all wanting more. This is the same thing that Nike does to keep us talking and to keep things ‘hype’. It’s not a bad strategy, I’ve just chosen to stop paying so much attention, especially for shoes I’m relatively ambivalent towards. I think, once you recognize what is going on, you start learning to focus your energy elsewhere…like…on the shoes I want…and not the shoes that are artificially scarce 😂
It’s funny tho because even if I were interested in these, seeing those numbers turns me off from them completely. As soon as a shoe becomes unattainable it’s out of my head. Which, I don’t know…is bad for Nike…? I don’t know.
Anyway…are y’all still surprised?
