Every time I hear the name of these I think of The Office and Threat Level Midnight with Michael Scott starring as secret agent Michael Scarn. I finally pulled the trigger on a pair at a price I couldn’t (and didn’t want to) resist...⁣

I don’t know...I’m getting some kind of Air Max 97 vibes from these...I love these vintage ACG retros...they’re different. ⁣

About 10 years ago, I worked at Intuit in Reno, Nevada and when I see these shoes I think of this dude Rob that used to work there. He might still work there - I’m not totally sure - but working for a multinational corporation in a mid-sized city generally means secure employment. Anyway, Rob was the boss of an adjacent team that we’d sometimes collaborate with. Day in and day out, Rob show up to work in ironed JC Penney-style jeans, a tucked in earth-toned polo shirt, a brown belt with a cell-phone holster attached to the hip, and some OG Air Skarns from like 1997 or so. That is how shoes are supposed to be worn - broken in and familiar. (Remember - Reno and Tahoe and the Great Outdoors are what ACG was made for and in this case - they definitely served their purpose).⁣

So...the lesson here is...I dunno...I don’t have a lesson. ⁣

Hmmm….let me Google ‘ska rn’: A Skarn is a metamorphic rock that has been chemically and mineralogically altered by metasomatism. Metasomatism is the alteration of rocks by hot, chemically-active fluids that flow or diffuse through the rocks and cause recrystallization and compositional change. So there, that’s the lesson.
