My philosophy as a white high school teacher with 15 years of corporate America experience is to teach my students what corporate America is all about and precisey how to take advantage of it.⁣

The Above was a simple assignment, but it helped me bring a number of kids into the fold as it had the majority of my students involved almost immediately.⁣

During this time of 'social distancing', I've been looking at sneakers as something slightly different than what they have always represented for me. Today, they seem excessive and borderline ridiculous. My dude @sneakerpreservationsociety posted his thoughts the other day and a lightbulb went off on my head. ⁣

Any time you are obsessively interested in something - it's so much easier to build connections with people you don't know through that interest. Sneakers have introduced me to tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people. They are my tool. ⁣

I hope y'all are going through your own self reflection during these strange times and keeping in mind that no matter how carried away we get I'd like to believe it's all about connection.⁣
