Now that I’ve got my first Sneaker Trading Card set in the books and the dust has *somewhat* settled, I decided to take a minute (to myself) to reflect on the mistakes I made while creating them. Ain’t no way to fix ‘em if I don’t take inventory of what I did right and what I did wrong, nahmsayin’?

One thing I want y’all to know - creating a trading card set is HARD. There are a lot of moving pieces and there is an incredible amount of coordination that goes into it. And being that the majority of my ‘trading card’ knowledge is 20+ years outdated, I’m pretty happy with how it all came out. Still, there were a handful of issues that will haunt me til they’re fixed on the next go ‘round.

For all of the mistakes I made...I’m pretty happy I didn’t have a big enough operation to make a mistake like some of these major trading card companies.

Look at this one, for example...apparently 905 Magic Johnson autographs were affixed to some random AAA baseball players card. I’m not blaming anyone for this - I’ve been working long enough to know that sh*t happens...but...wow. I’d really like to know the *internal* story behind how this one happened. The names aren’t even remotely similar...so I doubt it was a transposition error: Jordan Swaggerty vs. Magic Johnson. It’s such a wild mistake, I almost feel like it could have been intentional.

Theories?
