Could you imagine being the type of person that purchases a NIKE ID for $120 then immediately turns around and lists it on eBay for $2.7k? I get that there are a ton of people unemployed, but FFS…$3k? 😂 GTFO 
 
Anyway, y’all already know the story: Nike ID (or Nike by you) opens up dunks for a day. They sell out in a matter of minutes. Several IDs end up on eBay immediately afterwards in the ~$300+ range.  
 
This reminds me of the Project 2020 Griffey/Shore card; everyone realized at the exact same time that they could flip made-to-order cards (in this case, shoes) so everyone and their mother ordered hundreds if not thousands of the same card thinking they were going to flip for heavy profit. The problem was, no one really gave a damn about the card itself - they just cared about flipping it. Consequently, they completely flooded the market with it. You can now find these cards that retailed for $20 for about $2-$3 each, depending on how many you buy. Greed ruined that card. A perfect storm of everyone thinking they’ve hit the resale lotto.  
 
Sure, a handful of these Dunk IDs on eBay will sell, but if Nike’s calendar is any indication (with a number of GR Dunks on the way) - these IDs are going to sit at these prices and may even hit below retail in the coming year.  
 
IMO...the democratization of dunks is on its way and prices are going to start falling...nothing major, but I’ve already noticed a bit of a lull in the market, especially for SBs.  
 
Obviously, the classics will always hold value (although, I don’t think they’ll hold as high as they’ve been), but for all y’all worried about just having a beater pair to wear, you’re gonna get your turn here pretty soon.  
 
I, for one, am glad it seems the dunk tides are turning. Sneakers are SO MUCH MORE than a bunch of new colorways on a 35 year old silhouette...I’m excited for some of y’all who became sneakerheads during the (second) dunk craze to broaden your horizons with everything else that’s out there… 
 
There is a bonus, though...my #dunkydunks card set 1 is almost here! 😉
