Someone asked me about Valentine’s Day kicks the other day and it quickly triggered a memory…  
  
Back in like 2004 or 2005, when I was a young whipper snapper still courting my girlfriend (now wife), I thought I was being cute when I purchased her a pair of those Valentine’s Day Dunks…wifey wasn’t really much of a sneakerhead, but she had a few pairs I helped her choose.   
  
She had a pair of those brown and red ‘Mesa’ Dunks that she wore EVERYWHERE...She had a couple pairs of AM95’s I copped for her...grey and Pink and the all Navy pair...And she had a dope pair of 90’s she designed at the 255 Elizabeth Studio a bit later on, but she was never really into shoes like I was (am) into shoes.   
  
Anyway, @danposite and I were hoppin around #sunsetpark one weekend and I saw the patent leather with the little heart and thought ‘Oh, these are dope.’ Not ‘Oh, she’ll like these.’ Typical Homer and Marge kinda thinking...Copped. Got them home...she came over, I showed them to her and she looked at me like I was out of my mind. ‘No.’ Heartbroken (LOL).   
  
It was always kinda difficult returning to those mom & pop shops on the Ave., but I returned them the next day. Probably exchanged them for another pair I didn’t get enough use out of. Whatever.  
  
Looking back and at the prices on GOAT, I shoulda just kept ‘em…$350 used to $1k new WTF...
