Growing up, I really only knew ‘Carhartt’ as being ‘the poop brown pants’ that everyone in the mountains wore to work in construction. I’ve owned a few pairs, unironically, in my day as a painter and as a cleanup b*tch. The first time I saw the Carhartt Dunks I had no idea what I was looking at. But as soon as @danposite suggested it, everything clicked.

Depending on how long you’ve followed me here on IG, you might already know my Carhartt Dunk story - in short, I came up on roughly 20-30 pairs of Carhartt Dunks in 2004 at some random shop at $20/per. I’ll add the post(s) to my story a bit later on today in case you want a refresher you can look back on those old posts. At the time, I don’t think they were actually an official ‘Carhartt’ collaboration as the name they were given was ‘outdoor shale’, whatever the hell that means. All I know is that without that come up, The Sneaker Savant probably wouldn’t have all that many interesting stories to tell…

In the soon-to-be-released #dunkydunks set I’m dropping, I’ve included 2 base cards for the Carhartts - brown & black, and a special insert ‘NYC Shops’ card paying tribute to the store I bought them at (detailing the story with actual pics from my archive).

In the clip above, you can also see two digital versions of the base cards that I will most likely be releasing as NFTs, which you will be able to purchase as digital collectibles in case you don’t want to mess with the physical and just want to own them in your crypto wallet (investment, perhaps?).

Again, depending on how long you’ve followed on IG, you might have caught that about 6 months ago, my dad recently re-gifted me the pair I gifted to him back in 2005 virtually unworn...a pair from the goldmine. I told y’all...this #dunkyset means a lot to me.

Swipe to see a few other projects that Nike & Carhartt have worked on since the Dunk…(I’m STILL on the lookout for a pair of cheap 95’s in a 9/9.5...).
