Further to yesterday’s post...a few people dm’d me pics they saw of other AM96’s they saw were coming soon. I’ve seen some dope pics on Twitter that have got me kind of excited... 
 
There is a difference between the 96 and the 96 II - you’ll see the difference more prevalent in our #airmaxpax set, but they simply have different uppers. The original 96 - I really don’t care for. The classic OG colorway being ‘scream green’...and...I had a pair, I just really didn’t like the design all that much. The 96 II - the one that looks like the Air Max Evo was based on - is what I prefer. There were only a handful of each model and color to every come out, seriously I think there are less than 10 in total over both models. 
 
I think in 2015, Nike started doing these ‘20th anniversary’ of Air Maxes and released a shitload of 95’s in 2015, then like 5 pairs of BOTH 96’s in 2016 (although the soles were SIGNIFICANTLY modified takedown versions) and then like 50 97’s in 2017 and like 100 98’s from 2018-present.  
 
To this day, my only SNKRS ‘win’ came in 2016 when I was able to purchase the 96 II Varsity Maize’s for $185. I caught the black/white pair at an outlet like 2 years ago for $40, too. No one cared about that release (and I think it was because of the shitty tooling) 
 
Anyway, as I said yesterday - let’s get the Supreme pair out of the way so we can start watching the roll out of other colors. I’m sure I’m not the only AM head who’s excited to see the 96 II’s make a return with the original tooling.
