Early in the pandemic, this guy @dirugo1 hit me in the DMs from a thrift store in Colombia asking me to help him sort through some samples he stumbled upon...he sent me pic after pic of Nike samples he had found in this random shop in Bogata and was asking me what I thought about them. Most were just look-see samples of random lifestyle shoes, but he found a few pairs of AF1’s and a pair of sample Orange Box SB Dunks (in my size) that he eventually copped. It was just a dope experience - coming upon a sneaker adventure halfway across the world due to IG.

A few months ago, I noticed that the almighty @jbalvin (from Colombia) gave me a follow and I posted a screenshot on my story. I mean, this dude had 45M followers (at the time) and only followed ~1k people, so I was pretty stoked...STILL am, actually. This was right around the time his Jordan 1 dropped and I said in the post that I wanted a pair but couldn’t stomach resale.

Upon seeing my story and my post, the guy from the thrift store (in the first paragraph) hit me in the DMs and said he’d send me a pair STRAIGHT from Colombia for way cheaper than what they were selling for in the US. I told him I wasn’t all that comfortable sending cash for a pair that I couldn’t inspect first and he said ‘no worries, send me the cash when you receive them if you’re happy with them.’ About a month later, they arrived. And they checked out. And I sent him payment within a couple of days (we almost agreed on a #dogecoin transfer 😂 )

I asked my dude at JB about this and he told me that they released in Colombia mainly at Colombia’s version of Walmart...kinda dope if you ask me. Anyway...I just wanted to give @dirugo1 a shoutout. I don’t know many people who can say their pair came straight from Colombia… #vibras #tssgrailbox status.
