My buddy @acervan316 posted these on his story the other day and that little letter at the bottom caught my eye…

I want to say this is the FIRST time I’ve ever seen Nike refer to a pair of shoes - a new release even - as ‘collectable’ and for some reason that really caught my eye…

I have this concept of ‘collectible vs ‘wearable’ that I’ve been trying to manifest into existence for the past few years, and it’s interesting for Nike themselves to actually start making a similar distinction…

I just googled this and I’m not sure it’s even right or true, but supposedly the difference between the words ‘collectable’ (how Nike spelled it - meaning something that can be collected) vs. ‘collectible’ (what we typically think of as a collectible item someone invests in) is of note.

I mentioned it a few weeks ago - that the way they handled this pair is very interesting - and I think this marks the start of something interesting. I love collectibles and I love wearing my shoes and I love turning my wearables into collectibles, so…what happens when they come straight from the retailer as such?
