(9/11) Up until this point, we all had an idea of what we were getting into with each event, but day 3 started out with only note: “secret and confidential.” What I saw? Blew me away. What I heard? Even more. Maybe someday I’ll share more. But for now, let’s just say — it was unforgettable.
It’s funny because I didn’t plan this - but I had a couple of cards left in my pocket from the night before - and the whole ‘WHAT IF’ thing surfaced again in passing. And then it surfaced AGAIN as a point of topic…for those that were there - they know exactly what I’m talking about. To me, that felt like one of @aaron.ac.cooper ‘Dominoes’ — subtle, connected, and timed just right.
After the ‘secure & confidential’ event @big_macadoshis @terrancekeller and I decided to walk the bridge over to downtown Portland and we spent the better part of the morning walking around checking out the scene. We ended up at Buffalo Exchange, Shake Shack, BAIT, Nike and Index PDX, where we ran into a couple of the other guys… @professor_skoola , @dj_sneakerhead , @shoehefner5 and @mwillmusic . From there we walked over to @portlandgear where they gave us a brief history and backstory on the brand…and they laced us with some complimentary Mules and Bags - both of which are really dope. Shoutout to @marcusharvey__ for the insight.
After Portland Gear, I really wanted a nap but also didn’t want it to end, so I tagged along with @solesupreme and @pgknows and we reminisced about being youngsters running around looking for sneakers in New York…we met up with @myfirstkickspod , @ad__sneaks & @frontpageaaron at Kates ‘Plant Based Ice Cream’ and I ended up with a cup of ice cream like 3 times the size I thought I ordered.
And with a full stomach and even fuller mind, it was time to head back, get cleaned up, and show up early. One last time.
