This is one of the funny things about social media: @highsnobiety has a relatively tame Twitter - there really isn’t all that much interaction on their tweets…which is interesting IMO…but it looks like that’s a true statement UNTIL they make a mistake.
And this is a mistake. A pretty funny one, for a sneakerhead. I mean, FFS, I even made (5) special insert cards of the first few pairs of Supreme dunks that dropped ~20 years ago. These are actually like the ~15th-17th Supreme Dunks to ever release (swipe to see a few) so people understandably went ham in the comments.
I’m glad I caught a screenshot before they pulled it down and corrected it (last slide), but it was up for a while before they noticed. And the version with the mistake got FAR more engagement than the one correcting the mistake.
It’s wild to me that social media tends to thrive on mistakes and bad takes…if you’re used to being ‘authentic’ in most of your communication, how do you win? Do people interact with good news or correct information as much as with bad news or correct information?
Anyway, I hope you got em if you wanted them!
