If you showed me this shoe without the branding and asked me what brand it was…I think I’d go…Puma, Adidas, and then Nike...and then maybe some lesser-known (or more luxurious) brands…I don’t think there’s any way I could have conceived of this being a Converse model.
The A Cold Wall stuff…I don’t totally get it…but I did listen to the founder on The Business of Hype with @jeffstaple and I thought it was dope. An interesting interview for sure. I like *some* of his stuff…and some of it I could absolutely care less for, but I actually wear the black on black Vomero’s way more often than I ever thought I’d wear a pair of black on black shoes…
The lighter pair is definitely giving me Yeezy 2 ‘Pure Platinum’ vibes (the colorway) and the midsole looks like the ‘space hippie’ material. Anyway, an eye catching shoe. I like it.
With the cross branding of Converse and A Cold Wall, I think these are some bangers. I’m not sure there’s a really good precedent with this kind of product…I’m curious to see how it goes. The light pair dropped yesterday at $160 retail…do you think there’s gonna be a high resale market for these?
