Confession:
I love the 'Clogposite' and wish they always had them on the shelves.
I had the eggplant OG pair a few years ago...a pair I bought from some non-sneakerhead in San Mateo who listed them on Craigslist and had no idea what they were. And then I snagged a black pair when the retro dropped in 2014 which I picked up at the San Leandro outlet for $59.99 or so.
When I checked the name on the retro box, it said 'Nike Solo Slide' instead of 'Nike Clogposite'. Confused, I started googling...
They're the same shoe. But. For whatever reason, Nike decided to change the name on the retro. And what's even stranger...they basically stole the name from the OG takedown model. (For those that don't know what a takedown is, it's when they take a popular model and tone it down a bit - they make it more palatable for the casual consumer and sometimes use cheaper quality materials. It's probably hard to tell from the pics, but the clogposite is really rigid with support, the solo slide is really soft with minimal support).
The OG is the Clogposite
The OG takedown is the Solo Slide
The retro of the Clogposite is now called the Solo Slide
Why?
And when are we going to see another retro?
