Further to that post about whether or not you call them Off-White 2’s or Virgil 2’s or Jordan 2 Virgil’s or Jordan 2 Off-White’s, someone mentioned in the comments that this might be a much more interesting conversation when referring to the Travis collaborations…
I think it’s interesting because Travis is absolutely not a designer. And Virgil absolutely is.
I know the Virgil ‘3%’ comment, and I think it’s actually like a really interesting concept and I think it works *very* well, and I’m sure he was in charge of *all of the designs that went out under his name (and then some); but the funny part about this conversation is, I don’t think Travis Scott has any input on the design that bears his name. From the way I understand it, they assign a Nike or Jordan Designer to come up with a range of ideas…they show it to Travis and he ultimately gets the say.
I refer to those models as ‘Travis 4’s’, ‘Brown Travis 1 lows (or highs)’, ‘White and Blue Travis 1’s’, ‘Travis Dunks’ etc.
So do you call them ‘Travis 4’s’ or Jordan 4 ‘Travis’?
