I know that the Nike Swoosh is like *the* perfect logo…but IMO…the Jumpman isn’t all that far off.

It had me thinking…which one has had a stronger impact? Which one is more impactful for sneaker *culture*. (Again, I hate putting those two words together ‘sneaker culture’ but there is and has been a culture around sneakers whether I like it or not).

Like 10 years ago, when I spent like 5-6 months all over Southeast Asia and East Africa...shoes just weren’t a thing. I remember seeing construction guys and car repairmen working in flip flops and sandals. Every taxi driver, restaurant worker, tour guide or restaurant employee we encountered - they were *all wearing flip flops. Any time we would see shoes (in the context of what we’re talking about), I would say that Adidas and Puma were far more prevalent…and maybe that’s because football (ie: soccer) was big no matter where I went. As for clothing, though, there were two logos I noticed people wearing no matter *where* I went:
- The dual Samsung/Chelsea F.C. Logo (ie: Chelsea FC’s sponsor at the time)
- The ‘NY’ (New York Yankees) Logo

The only reason I'm telling you this - is because I tend to think in terms of 'global impact' when I'm trying to answer questions like this. And in the 'global landscape' with what I saw and experienced, shoes weren’t even all that popular. I don't think I even saw Jordans on foot even ONE time in SE Asia or East Africa. And if I saw Nikes, they weren't all that interesting...

So...swoosh vs. jumpman…I think it's an interesting question. I know...FOR SURE...I'm gonna get some people saying '100% swoosh' or '100% jumpman' and I really don't care for opinions that don't show examples...so GIVE ME SOME EXAMPLES PLEASE!

Anyway, to get back to the question - which one do you think has had a great impact on sneakers?
