I love Kobes, love 6’s (especially the texture)…and I’m pretty sure I posted this exact pair from a rep manufacturer like 3 or 4 months ago. But another pair of black and white basketball shoes that I’m supposed to jump through hoops to get? Meh. I’m good. I have absolutely zero connection with this pair. I shouldn’t be shocked to see the uproar all over IG, but I dunno…I am. Is anyone really surprised at this point?
Wasn’t like the whole reason that Vanessa Bryant decided to cut ties with Nike in the first place related to accessibility? Wasn’t she campaigning for ‘fans’ to be able to get their hands on shoes? What’s going on in this case? Are the ‘fans’ getting their hands on this pair? Or is it just a handful of resellers again?
Again…this whole ‘there isn’t enough to go around’ mentality is so played out. Imagine if Nike took pre-orders on these a year ago when they were talking about this ‘accessibility’ stuff…how much controversy would we see at this point?
It all just seems like it’s more of the same. More corporate posturing. Same old story. I was holding out hope for some kind of ‘revolutionary’ accessibility-related release model, but it’s just more of the same. NONE of this is about accessibility. It’s all about hype. On to the next one…
