The Jordan silhouette is very close to (if not) perfect. But it was more or less staged. The symmetry is on point. Looks great on a million different products. It’s become almost as big as the swoosh.
The Lebron ‘Dunkman’ silhouette is also pretty cool…I’m curious as to why they don’t use it more…maybe it looks too ‘Jordan-esque’?
The Shaq logo (on the Wal Mart shoes) isn’t bad either. It’s actually a dope logo IMO. It just…it’s hard to make anything super desirable when they’re put on Wal Mart shoes.
The Ray Allen silhouette/logo is also pretty damn good. His jumper turning into his name? Dope. Too bad it’s only on a couple of shoes.
Griffey Jr.’s swingman. Dope.
I think they’re all great.
But when it comes to what I will drop money on without a second thought - it’s always been Nike’s Rasheed Wallace silhouette…maybe because it’s just not on all that many shoes (so I get excited seeing it every once in a while). But I also suspect it’s because I had so much fun watching him play. His style of play wasn’t exactly ‘smart’, but it was damn sure passionate. And, even though I disagreed with at least 45% of what he chose to fight against, I still loved watching him get all worked up and claw his way through games. He was great on the Blazers…and I LOVED the fact that he was like the only dude during that time period that wore AF1’s to play in. I wore AF1 mid’s to play in from roughly 2003-2009 so I felt he was kinda like my spirit animal in that regard. His silhouette…with that off center jumper…it’s unmistakably him. Anti-perfect.
I wish Nike would do some reasonable AF1 retro’s with the Sheed logo…I could really do without the patent leather hi’s…how about just some simple color ways in tumbled leather? Would that be too much to ask?
What about you? What’s your favorite player silhouette logo? I know I’ve gotta be missing a few...
