Have y’all ever sat back and thought about how different sneaker companies run their businesses?
With Nike having been founded in 1964, and Adidas having been founded in 1949, why do you think Nike is worth more than double what Adidas is worth?
I think of Nike as like playing a massive game and we’re all the pawns. And they do a damn good job at it.
I think of Adidas as the antithesis of Nike…they are fully capable of playing the same game, but they’re simply not interested.
If we’re talking designs…I don’t care what anyone says…I think the designs are comparable. And in some cases, I might give Adidas the edge - I feel like they take more risks. But sales don’t really come down to designs…IMO…it’s what Nike *attaches* to the design that has people paying head over heels for their products. It’s the stories that Nike tell/sell.
What are they doing differently to result in such a significant difference in valuation? What would *you* do differently if you were the head of Adidas?
