We all know of that Jordan 1.5 that released a few years back…I know that the idea of that shoe is cool. And maybe the OG of that shoe is cool. But the execution on that release was terrible. They looked like clown shoes. (In before everyone claims they love them sooooo much cuz y’all are liars we all saw those things sit on shelves for 3+ years at $40 before resto guys started sole swapping them and prices went out of control)…
Obviously that’s a Jordan 1 upper with a Jordan 2 sole. But what if we swapped those ideas around? What if they did a 2 upper on a Jordan 1 sole? I think people would go apesh*t over that…(as long as it’s pushed by the blogs and influencers).
So what about these A/R 87’s by @jayzrdead? They definitely caught my eye…a refreshing step in the right direction and an interesting take on what hundreds of designers over the past couple of years have capitalized off of (their own Jordan 1!).
I want to say @jayzrdead is one of the first dudes I ever followed on IG…I wasn’t totally sold on IG at the time and I remember following him just thinking ‘man if this dude isn’t, he definitely should be working for Nike or Jordan Brand’
But he just dropped his silhouette the other day and I gotta say…I love the idea. A lot. Remember, I’m the guy that always hits up @govrn_ for random sole swaps. Just random ideas about how things could be…and this one has been created…
There are a ton of ideas I think Nike could run with (and they just might), but for whatever reason they don’t. And this is one of them.
What do y’all think of this application?
