Running through authentications the other day and came across this pair of Nike Flight QS and did a double and then a triple take…
So these came out in like 2014/2015…and I know it’s nothing amazing as Nike has been doing this for a while…but it’s a Nike shoe…and….notice the 3-ish safari panel, the 5-ish heel, the 4-ish sole…I mean…I don’t know if I’ve ever seen this pair in person. I’ve seen the all silver chrome pair…and it never really registered for me…
Now that the ‘Tinker 3’s’ have been out for a couple of years, that’s like all I see. I know there are a million pairs of shoes that look alike and I KNOW that's the intention and I KNOW there are differences and that’s fine…but the overall look is very similar IMO And it’s amazing how one little tweak (and buttloads of marketing) can change the perception of something from a sales item that no one even notices to a ‘must have’ that @justintimberlake wears on tour. I'm just picturing a bunch of designers in a room holding up duds and saying 'hmm, what if we change this from 'wolf grey to cool grey?' and BINGO. Hit.
