Part of the thing about creating a ‘sneaker grading’ algorithm is that I’ve spent countless hours just looking at shoes in an attempt to train myself to see things that most people might not even notice…
Reading the description about this shoe, these Vachetta 7’s that are about to drop, this phrase caught my eye: “Highlighting the shoe are geometric graphic and screen-prints throughout the shoe.” Geometric. In a past life (3-5 years ago), I was a geometry teacher.
So when I took a look at the *official* pics, the angle of the ‘Nike Air’ logo on the heel had me zooming in. My mental protractor had me out here making guesstimates…’looks like it’s at about a 20 degree slope, eh?’ Geometry.
But back to the question at hand: I suppose…if you’re putting these on your feet…who gives a damn, amirite? I straddle the line, a lot, about what is ‘wearable’ vs. what is ‘collectable’…so if you’re planning on collecting these…or…stocking them…or…saving them for whatever reason…should these kinds of defects present a problem…?
And would you prefer honest to goodness official pics (which SHOW these kinds of defects), or would you prefer official pics that show a perfect pair?
