Caught this image on @verseone story a few weeks ago and those waffle racers caught my eye. Nothing all that amazing about them, but seeing another massive charcuterie board full of @virgilabloh @off____white samples had me wondering...how many shoes did he actually work on?
I think...something around around 70-80 actual Nike x Off-White sneakers were released (while he was alive), plus a handful more (since he passed), and I know I've seen quite a few pictures of random samples...I guess I'm just kinda shocked at how many different shoes he put his mark on...around 100 were released, plus all of those samples? looks to be somewhere around 200?
I had a discussion with someone who has had conversations with Virgil and he told me that he pulled one of my Dunky Dunk cards for reference and was actually considering working on the Choad at one point or another, but, obviously, that never went anywhere (as far as I know)...
Anyway...I've always kinda looked at the whole Virgil 'experiment' as being like this niche thing, but with ~200 shoes worked on...that doesn't totally sound like much of a niche experiment, does it? Color me surprised.
