Hopefully you had your post notifications on so you didn't miss my extremely important opinion about the sneaker of 2022! To clarify the point...I think the most IMPORTANT sneaker of the year, to me, at least, was the shoe above.
TBH, I wasn't even interested the first few times I saw this shoe. Still think it's kinda ugly. And the initial prices I saw it listed at - roughly 15 ETH - made it ENTIRELY unattainable for me. But once prices leveled out, I was able to see past the hype. So for what it represents...TO ME...it's easily the most important one IMO.
Now...y'all know I'm a crypto guy. Been into the idea for ~10-ish years. I'm no @franalations , but I absolutely am 382% in on the framework with which crypto is founded and built upon. Now this shoe doesn't hold the tech that @rtfkt has been able to implement in their AF1's, and the 'release' was likely a last minute idea. BUT. This shoe will go down, officially, as the FIRST ever Nike sneaker released in conjunction with an officially licensed (by Nike) NFT. To me - this was 10 years coming.
And, I don't care what the news says, I don't care what the financial markets say, I don't care what the haters say, and I don't care what any of those 'crypto bros' say...this stuff...crypto and NFTs...is the future...to ME. And this shoe - although semi-weakly - bridges the gap between the past and the future...TO ME.
So. My sneaker of the year. Conviction as to why I copped 5 pairs.
