Inspiration has been hard to come by. And I don't think I'm alone.

I go through this every few months. I usually have like a week where I feel like I need to sit back, chill, and take stock of what I’m doing and what it is I’m trying to do.
Truth be told, it’s been a bit of a grind lately. And…it’s not because I’m like *sick* of sneakers or anything, it’s more that I’m just sick of the Instagramification of everything…I feel like I’m the leader of the Anti-blog blogging club. Stupid.
And I’m mad that y’all out there told me you’d buy my latest cards and none of you did. And I don’t know if I blame you - there is NO shortage of cool, creative stuff coming out every 3 seconds on Instagram and I feel like it’s just a tough time to create dope shit. I, myself, and countless others have spent a great deal of time and money creating that massive encyclopedic set of 90’s basketball sneaker cards and I ended up giving away far more boxes than I sold, and nearly *nobody* even bothered to post the boxes they got for free. Like, how hard is to post? How hard is it to just say ‘hey, these guys put a ton of effort into this set and then they sent it to me for free and I think if you’re even slightly interested in 90’s sneakers you might find this interesting’ and like NOBODY did it. Could it be my fault in that I’m too scared to ask for help?
So. Uninspired.

The other day, I popped into my local Nike outlet and saw one of those shoes that literally NOBODY asked for. The Lebron 9 (that’s still listed for $230 on NDC, but only $99.99 + 40% off at the outlet). For whatever reason, I was drawn to it. And I just looked at it. Kind of mesmerized at the stupidity of it. I mean, here we are with a light pink basketball shoe that has a furry brown quarter and a gummy jewel swoosh slapped right in the middle.
I looked at it. And wondered.
A spark of inspiration.
And I thought…I bet I could tell a better *fake* story about this one than even the colorway designer can.
So I gave it a shot. I came up with a story. Part 1 of 2 dropping tomorrow.
