When it comes to some of these new @supremenewyork x @nike collaborations I often find myself asking the question: What is the goal?
Is the goal to sell units? Is the goal to drive hype? Is the goal to bring awareness? Is the goal to help launch a (new) batch of retro’s?
To me - and this gonna sound madddd haterish - but I have yet to see a single colorway of this particular shoe that comes anywhere near the colorways that it originally released in. The success of the red/yellow/black and blue/black colorways cannot and will not be replicated. EVER. IMO, this shoe can ONLY be defined by its original colorways…no colorways will ever meet or beat the original. Not even in crossbranding collaborative attempts.
Does that mean they shouldn’t try? Meh. I suppose we’ll see. I’m no Bakin purist, but I have a feeling these will quickly be found for under retail…
Y’all care for this one? Or another easy pass?
Side note: NYC on the heel is dope. I hope we see more of that!
