(8/?) Eight weeks in and I started badgering Joe. Where we were at. And the answer that we kept hearing - we were effectively nowhere. Nothing had been built, nothing had been created, and the ‘tech pack’ they sent us looked like they literally just took a screenshot of our own psd, put them in a different file format and sent them back to us.
I called Joe, explained my frustrations, and he told me he’d put me on the line with their CEO, this dude named Steve Heibockel. He told me to expect a call from Steve the following day at around 11am and I made sure to prepare myself with notes.
So the following morning at 11am…I waited…and waited…and…no call.
Around 30 minutes later, I called him.
Steve. The CEO.
And he had no idea who I was or why I was calling.
I had to explain who I was and why I was calling and it sounded to me like that guy wouldn’t have even noticed if I told him I was Michael F*cking Jordan. He clearly wasn’t paying attention and it completely threw me off. After a few minutes of awkward silent pauses, he said to me ‘let me look into it I’ll call you back in a little bit’. An hour later I got the call and he proceeded to mansplain to me about how shoe production works. Blah Blah Blah. When there was a pause in his rant, I told him ‘yeah, this was already explained to me a thousand times before. When can I get an estimate for completion on the project I paid you to complete?’
He told me they’d start the following week.
