Back in the day, a lot of people bought *fake* shoes because they didn't know they were fake. They bought them because they were the *only* pairs available *in person*.
Now, it seems, most people who buy fakes KNOWINGLY buy fakes. Because they can't get their hands on the authentic versions (or have zero interest in spending thousands of dollars on the authentic versions.
Today...it's definitely reasonable to expect manufacturers to produce fake shoes that go for thousands and thousands of dollars, but why bother with a shoe that goes for like $100?
