I know a lot of ppl called into question the 'fake' verdict from this India story (s/o to @habibithrifts for including me), especially after a JB employee reached out to me. Well, the JB person and I scoured over these shoes for quite a while and came to the same conclusion: Fake.
Yes, the tag looks good. The shape isn't terrible, the leather is good, the green is slightly off and the laser lines aren't as deep...but it was the outsole that gave it away.
If you take a look at the black sole bad on the bottom of these shoes, you'll notice that it's actually painted. And it's painted rather sloppily if you look at the different pics you can see it's all over the place. From what I've been told - this section of the sole is actually supposed to be a solid *black* rubber compound, as the piece above is. So any 'clear' bleed through on it indicates it's actually fake. So. That's it. Unfortunately, this didn't turn into the coolest story ever *but it was still a pretty cool and I'm glad y'all enjoyed it.
