So the other day I’m scrolling the gram and I see this headline about this guy @teddysantis and I, like most of you, were probably thinking ‘hm, who?’
I mean, sure, I’ve heard of him and know he’s affiliated with new balance and people are going batshit crazy over some of his designs. But…number 1?
I saw a lot of people in the comments of these posts up in arms about the crown and I kinda went along with the crowd…like…who even is this guy?
And then that bit of self realization - I’m 43 years old and live near the mountains and drive a minivan - is ‘streetwear’ still made for guys like me? Absolutely not. So what do I care who they say is the ‘most influential person in streetwear’ right now?
Yesterday, I found a pair of M990TC3’s at my local for dumb cheap and when I looked them up, I saw they were a Teddy Santis colorway. Ok, so now I thought, one of his designs has made it to my world. But…number 1?
So it made me think - who would I say is the most influential person in streetwear right now? And I honestly have no clue. I thought about it for a long ass time and couldn’t come up with a single answer. I’d just as well say - for me - it could be @ogkwoods or @goodbirger or @sneakerphetish or @thesneakdiss_sneaker_podcast or @sneakersteal or anyone else on IG or IRL who just influences me on a day to day…So I guess…for those who aren’t me…if it’s Teddy Santis, I guess it’s Teddy Santis. If it’s Bill Buttlicker, I guess it’s Bill Buttlicker.
But for everyone that complained - who would you think deserves to be at the top of this list and why?
