So… Complexcon.
I feel like I could write a book about everything, but trying to focus more on the information that might benefit YOU can really make that a lot shorter book 😂

The good:
- I’m glad I finally went. Now I never have to think ‘hmm I wonder what that was like’
- It gave me a great deal of perspective, and maybe…context…for the greater fashion/scene/business world (around sneakers)
- I met and talked to a lot of cool people. Including a bunch of people I’ve talked with online A LOT but never talked with in person.
- It wasn’t really sneaker focused.
The bad:
- I felt like I was more of a spectator than anything. I’m good at talking with people in person but big wild events I’m usually in the corners.
- The cost of everything was on par with luxury goods, even though vast majority of it wasn’t actually luxury goods (I didn’t buy a single thing).
- The smells and the sounds. A lot of the time I felt like I was at a music festival that I didn’t sign up for 😂
- It wasn’t really sneaker focused.

If I didn’t get the invite from @sneakerlegal I wouldn’t have went, but I got to chop it up with him and a bunch of clients to understand the business a bit better…so, professionally that was a win.
Personally, my goal was to look for and identify potential business opportunities and/or ways to help build out ‘The Sneaker Savant’ shoemetrics grading (of which, the most promising conversations happened with @23penny and the team from @endstate ) and to see if anyone had any interest in the @1tostock sneaker cards that @sonsofblackmaria and I have been creating.
I gave out about 100 packs to the likes of the aforementioned, plus a dude from @rtfkt , @dontchargeabdul , @m.tomamichel , @matthewjwelty , @brendandunne , @youngcorey , @jrwideman , @maydjahlook , @bgkicks and a bunch of others that I will remember directly after hitting ‘OK’ on this post 😂
In any case, I’m a firm believer that nothing beats experience. I had a MUCH different perspective of what it was going to be going in than I did coming out…overall I’m glad I got to see it but doubt I will feel the need to go back in the near future..
