(1/2) Here’s kinda the thing: I think, no matter *who* does the job that @matthewjwelty , @brendandunne and @jlp do, I think they’d get under my skin. Not because of anything they are or aren’t, but mostly just because I don’t know if I think the ‘hobby’ needs an interview series with tangential celebrities…I know these guys are hard workers, and I know they put in a lot of hours. I know they try to make their mark and like or it not - they have. I know it’s difficult when people look to you and your opinions as if your opinions are gospel. If I had the opportunity to make a series of semi-high profile shows in the same vein - I would take it - but I would also know that I’d probably have a lot of haters. It’s all part of the game.  
 
For a long time now, I’ve been trying to get some sneaker cards into the hands of just about anyone who I think might care - not necessarily to ‘make it big’, but more to ‘share the fun’ and chop up ideas to see what else can be done…so…the guys at Complex have been on my list for a while now, I just had no idea how I was going to make it happen. Maybe at Complexcon? 
 
At home, I packed exactly 100 re-packs - I took cards from each and every set we’ve created and evenly distributed throughout each pack…so…#824Pack cards mixed with #DunkyDunk cards and #AirMaxPax cards and #NBAOneDay cards…all in the same pack. And the I slapped a sticker on them stating PROMO with my IG handles…I had all 100 packs in a shoe bag I carried with me everywhere.  
 
Early Saturday morning, at ComplexCon, I had an exhibitor pass. Walking up through the lines and security and all that, my mind was racing - I’m really going to have to take in the scene before I can approach anyone. And the minute I got through security, I looked up and saw @brendandunne talking to someone in the lobby and he was wearing some @erichazenyc lows… So I asked myself - ‘should I walk up, introduce myself, and hand him some cards?’ I decided against it. It didn’t feel natural. I’m not a dude who pushes up on people. I’m not a dude who is necessarily *selling* anything. I’m a dude who wants to share genuine connections on abstract ideas through a common thread. So I walked away…
