A lot of talk (or posts) lately about shops ‘forcing’ buyers to smash their boxes…a few thoughts:
- it appears that the ‘point’ of this is just to go viral on IG. It has nothing to do with shoes because:
- people don’t wear boxes (although, y’all might see something coming from @1tostock soon that highlights those who do)
- StockX doesn’t accept shoes without boxes
—-
Why this matters:
- it doesn’t. Unless you’re a box collector. And then it only kind of matters, because most people tend to care more about the shoes than the box
Or
- it doesn’t. Unless you’re just trying to resell the shoes.
And that doesn’t even matter because:
Who cares?
The moral posturing of shops is questionable at best…y’all exist for profit. Y’all exist to build yourselves up through the hype of a product you didn’t create. How in the helm u gonna stop someone from doing the same?
Agree, it sucks to watch dudes focused solely on profit profit off of something you have some control over, but I think there might be better ways to stem the problem…
