Funny story -
So I’m checking my deals site (quickstrike) last night and I see a pic of a dog wearing some dunks and then a pair of Jordan XX9’s going for $1.04 with 3m left.
I click on over, place my bid, lose by 49 cents, but notice dude has like 20 pairs of dope shoes going for pennies on the dollar about to end within the hour.
I’m checking the XX9 photo reel and it’s at $16 - I had this shoe years ago but sold for a healthy profit…always wanted it back but refused to pay up. So I’m watching this dudes auction…checking every few minutes…and then it just ends inexplicably with about 3 minutes left. I look at the rest of his auctions and all were ended at the same time. I know what’s happened. Dude shilled his own shoes and wasn’t happy that they were about to die on the ‘these went for wayyyy less than I had hoped’ so he ‘ended the auction and sold them to the ‘high bidder’.
I reach out 30 seconds later and ask dude what he wants for them. He tells me that the phantom buyer ‘already requested a cancellation’ at $16 but he’d let them go for $200
Anyway…I need another pair of shoes like I need a hole in my head, but I thought it was funny to see my website in action.
