Super interesting article over there on @sneakernews showing how they got that strange pattern on the upper of the Jordan 39…short version - designers at JB dipped a pair of 29’s in paint and had people play in them to see which areas had the most stress and movement. So that’s what the aesthetic design embroidered into the upper is based on.
I LOVE the 29’s…have owned several pairs so it’s cool to see them get some shine.
A bit more cool info on the 39 in that article as well…how they flipped a ‘23’ to look like a ‘39’ and a few other cues from the IX. Can’t say I’m a fan of the shoe (@joerdan23tn had a dope conceptual design of the 39), not the OG IX, but maybe they’ll grow on me as 34’s, 36’s, 37’s and 38’s have.
I love that, regardless of anything, JB KEEPS pushing the envelope…
